Applications and Software

PARSTAT  3000A is a high performance potentiostat designed in a small footprint for laboratories and/or application environments that require little space.

The additional voltage measurement (6 WIRE) makes this instrument highly suitable for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) in batteries, as two impedance values can be acquired simultaneously. _cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Users can assign impedance values to the anode and cathode; via standoffs; or to individual cells in a stack._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_Physical electrochemistry applications also benefit from using this input to capture pH, temperature, or pressure measurements via an external probe.

The compliance voltage (30 V) of the PARSTAT 3000A allows measurement in low conductivity (high impedance) solutions, such as ethanol, or when the counter electrode is insulated by a frit bridge tube. _cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_The matching bias voltage (30V) gives the PARSTAT 3000A the ability to take full advantage of this high compliance for potential control in electrophoretic deposition or high voltage anodizing.

The PARSTAT 3000A provides accurate EIS measurements up to 7 MHz. This is made possible by:

  • Advanced calibration routines for improved overall accuracy across the entire frequency and impedance range
  • Faster experiment duration, without sacrificing data quality typically associated with Multi-Sine EIS techniques
  • New algorithms that provide greater accuracy of signal amplitude at high frequency
  • Direct connection to energy storage devices via MACCOR battery holders that eliminate the impact of cell cable impedance

Through the VersaStudio software, users can select between the different groups of techniques available:

Energy which provides charge-discharge curves (including CC-CV) for Capacity-vs-Number of Cycles or Coulomb Efficiency, as well as dedicated techniques such as Constant Power, Constant Resistance, and the Potentiostatic Intermittent Titration technique /galvanostatic (PITT, GITT) that provides techniques electrochemical fundamentals such as cyclic voltammetry and chronotechniques. Advanced Voltammetry techniques also include Pulse Voltammetry methods.

Corrosion which provides multiple corrosion analysis techniques, including the most common ASTM standards such as Linear Polarization Resistance (LPR, ASTM G59), Tafel (ASTM G5), Cyclic Polarization (ASTM G61) , etc.

You can add impedance  to any system to provide electrochemical impedance spectroscopy techniques
