The rotator with integrated axis for RDE and RCE experiments
- Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) or Rotating Cylinder Electrode (RCE) Configuration
- Rotational speeds to 8,000 RPM
- A variety of fixed disc configurations: different electrode materials; PTFE versus PEEK cover
- Rotational speed and on/off control via DAC control of many Princeton Applied Research potentiostats
Applications and Software
A system RDE uses a single potentiostat to bias a disk electrode. Rotation of this disk electrode favors mass transport of ions in solution to the electrode surface._cc781905 -5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_This flux increase benefits physical electrochemistry applications such as electroplating and fundamental research.
A system CER uses a larger area electrode that has a different shape. This is a common configuration for studying rate-sensitive electrochemical corrosion, such as in an oil and gas pipeline .
