Lanthanum bromide, or LaBr3(Ce), is one of the new generation of inorganic scintillation gamma ray detectors. LaBr detectors exhibit improved resolution and light decay time faster.

When used with the latest ORTEC digital electronics, these detectors provide better resolution, pulse shape, and temperature stability compared to NaI (Tl) types.
